Social Bookmarking for Sale??
Increase traffic through organic search
I have talked about the need for Search Engine Optimization (SEO) for small business websites from time to time. If you have a website, you are a fool if you do not, at the very least, do some basic SEO work so that search engines can see and index your website. After all, what is the point in having a website if nobody can ever find it?
But, not so fast. SEO is always changing and what worked last month can get your website banned from search engines this month. Knowledge and know-how is one of the reasons that quality SEO work can be so expensive. So, what do you do if you are a small business owner and don't have the $10,000 to hire me or another qualified SEO guru?
Starting today, I will be posting tips and tricks that will allow you to self SEO your website. There is a lot that you can do yourself for free and there are "insider" resources that can make the job 100 times easier for little or no cost. Hopefully, with our help you can start driving traffic to your website and increase it's profit.
Insider Secret #1
Find cheap but effective ways to build back links to your website. There used to be a time when a webmaster or small business owner could go online and submit their website to hundreds of free directories. The resulting "links" would get their website indexed and ranking in the search engines. However, directories have lost most of their link value and the uninformed webmaster can waste hundreds of hours gathering near worthless links. Still, not all directories are a waste of time.
The new and improved way to get back links to a website is through social bookmarking. Anyone, including a webmaster can place a social bookmark on his or her website and share it with other people. Each "bookmark" counts as a link from a popular, if not trusted, website. These links can be much more valuable than the fly-by-night directory links. Still lost?
